Can someone name any instances when the Republicans went to conference on Major Legislation without the Dems?

It seems that there are a lot of blaming game going on in congress now on the Deficit, Health Care bill, terrorist attacks etc.





But with Health Care overhaul that will affect a good chuck of our economy, can some one name instances when the Republicans went into Conference on major legislation without including any Democrats?|||After promising that cspan would be in on the debate all the way and then banning them from them? NONE.|||Who cares. Republicans decided long ago they would not participate in reforming health care. So no crying now.|||Yep

But really, the stated goal of the Republican members of Congress is to stop this bill at all costs. They have not agreed to anything, even though they have more than 200 amendments in the bill(s).|||I never heard of such a thing happening. If they ever tried to do that, the dems would scream like baby tigers, and the press would make it a front page issue.|||In the words of Pelosi..WE WON THE ELECTION SO WE GET TO WRITE THE BILLS!!! How UNITING is that?|||they didn't need to. the only reason there's a conference is because so many blue dogs are cowering with their tails between their legs in fear of the GOP bogeyman.





the republicans, on the other hand, goose-step in unison, all facing the same direction, and all chanting the same slogan and spouting the same litany. those who dare disagree with party leadership on even the most inconsequential issues end up like Dede Scozzafava... thrown under the bus in the name of ideological purity.
