Was the apartheid the Racist legislation which the nationalist government enforced in south Africa ?

when they were under occupation of the British?

Also was it the ANC that over ruled them and abolished their legislation ?|||1) Yes

2) The British arrived in the 1800's (look up 1820 Settlers). The Dutch and British ruled differents parts of the country in different periods and fought each other for power in the Anglo-Boer wars. The Union of South Africa incorporating different parts of the current country was established in 1910 and the Republic of South Africa was established in 1961.

3) No it was a negotiated transition with democratic elections won by the ANC in 1994 and subsequent elections.|||idk|||In the early 1990's there was a major dismantling of apartheid under President F. W. de Klerk. In 1994, after most of that had occurred, the ANC was first able to run for election and won.|||Racist legislation? Are you sure we are not talking about the ANC?
