Why does the Constitution specify a bicameral legislation? What does this mean? How is it beneficial?

Why does the Constitution specify a bicameral legislation? What does this mean? How is it beneficial? Describe the make-up of both houses of our national legislature, including size, representation, and terms of office.|||can you please specify if this is for the US legislature or somewhere else?

some nations have two chambers to provide check and balance and to equalize representation. for example, in the US Congress states with large populations have more congressmen. however, in the US Senate each state has two senators regardless of size of population.

you can read more about Bicameralism on Wikipedia including other info such as description, size, representation and terms of office.
